Crochet Swatch Saturday is back — and this week I’m testing out WeCrochet’s CotLin*! 🧶 This cotton-linen blend might just be one of my *favorite yarns so far. 🔥 The Tea on This Yarn:
- Fiber Content: . 70% tangius cotton, 30% linen. 10/10
- Color Range: 50. That’s a good amount! 9/10
- Frogability: Some yarns fight you when frogging. This one? She practically jumps off the hook yelling, ‘your mistake, not mine!’ 10/10
- Splitting: Not a splitter in sight — this yarn sticks together tighter than crochet friends at a yarn sale. 10/10
- Stitch Definition: You can see them but they’re a little shy 8/10
- Feel: Really nice starting place for softness. 9/10
- Drape: I do wish it was a bit more weak in the knees but it isn’t bad. 8/10
- Washability: Heck ya! Machine wash cold and tumble dry low 10/10
- Warnings or concerns: A little bit of shedding. 7/10
- Price: Skeins are a tad small for the price but not terrible. 8/10
✨ Overall verdict: This may be a new staple in my stash! 9.1/10 Fun fact: Tanguis cotton was actually born out of a crisis*! In the early 1900s, Peru’s cotton crops were being destroyed by a fungal disease. A clever farmer named *Fermín Tanguis spent ten years crossbreeding plants until he created a new variety that resisted disease *and* produced stronger, longer, softer fibers. The result? A cotton so durable that garments made from it can be washed up to twice as many times as regular cotton before wearing out — and it stays softer with every wash. 💪✨
