Yarn: Loops & Threads Heathered Bamboo
Colorway: Pine
Where to Buy: Michaels
Hook Size Used: 4.5 mm

🔥 The Tea on This Yarn:

  • Fiber Content: 53% acrylic, 47% bamboo – an interesting blend that may overcome the worst of both fibers 7/10
  • Color Range: 12, a decent start but I’d love to see more. 8/10
  • Frogability: Easy peasy as long as it didn’t get split 8/10
  • Splitting: (Insert tears of disappointment) Yep, especially on double crochet. Probably not as bad as Truboo though. 4/10.
  • Stitch Definition: Um, it’s there but the yarn color pattern obscures it 7/10
  • Feel: Just what I dreamed of. 10/10
  • Drape: Absolutely the best for a worsted yarn 10/10
  • Washability: Machine wash cold, tumble dry low 10/10
  • Warnings or concerns: OMG, the yarn barf!! And let’s not get started on that untwisting as it comes out. 5/10
  • Price: Pretty average 8/10

✨ Overall verdict: 7.7 Fun fact: Bamboo yarn is naturally *antibacterial and odor-resistant*! The bamboo plant contains a substance called “bamboo kun,” which helps it resist pests and fungi — and that property actually carries over into the yarn. So not only is it silky and drapey, it also helps keep your handmade pieces fresher for longer! 🌿✨
